{"id":380,"date":"2024-04-15T15:45:19","date_gmt":"2024-04-15T15:45:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/singalongacmvc.co.uk\/?page_id=380"},"modified":"2024-04-15T15:45:19","modified_gmt":"2024-04-15T15:45:19","slug":"music-team","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/singalongacmvc.co.uk\/?page_id=380","title":{"rendered":"Music Team"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Music Director &#8211; Matthew Quinn<\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.croydonmalevoicechoir.co.uk\/images\/Matthew-jpeg.jpeg\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:150px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Matthew comes from Belfast and at the dauntingly young age of 25 (when he joined CMVC) has already built a remarkable music biography.\u00a0\u00a0 He has worked with such top-quality ensembles as the RTE Concert Orchestra, Crouch End Festival Chorus and the Lux Chamber Choir. He has conducted Northern Ireland Opera, the Genesis Sixteen and the Queen\u2019s University Chamber Choir.\u00a0 He was previously music director of the Manchester Philharmonic Choir and the Hallam Choral Society.\u00a0 He is an accomplished singer and has performed as a soloist in pieces such as The Armed Man by Karl Jenkins and Mozart\u2019s The Magic Flute.\u00a0 He has also coached the Northern Ireland Opera, the Halle Orchestra and the Belfast School of Performing Arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Accompanist &#8211; Sam Prouse<\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.croydonmalevoicechoir.co.uk\/images\/Sam-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:152px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Samuel Prouse was born in London, and is\u00a0a prize-winning postgraduate student of\u00a0the Royal Academy of Music (Alan\u00a0Kirby\u00a0Prize),\u00a0where he pursued choral conducting\u00a0and organ studies with Patrick Russill and Paul Brough. During this time, Samuel held organist posts at St\u00a0Marylebone Parish Church and Westminster Abbey. While still a student, Samuel became a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists, winning prizes for the highest marks in the practical examination, and the Dixon Prize for Improvisation. He has given solo\u00a0recitals at\u00a0Westminster Abbey, Westminster Cathedral, St\u00a0Paul&#8217;s Cathedral and York Minster, as well as concert performances in France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Malta and St\u00a0John&#8217;s, Smith Square in London. Samuel was Head Chorister at St\u00a0Edmundsbury Cathedral in Suffolk, and read Music at Royal Holloway College, University of London, where he was also Organ Scholar.\u00a0He is a keen composer, and has had his choral compositions performed by the BBC Singers, the London Symphony Chorus and Siglo de Oro. Samuel has appeared as an accompanist, composer and conductor on a number of recordings for\u00a0labels such as\u00a0Delphian Records, Naxos, Signum and Regent Records. He has also performed on radio broadcasts in the UK and on Radio France Culture.\u00a0 He previously accompanied the CMVC on an occasional basis, and became the full-time accompanist in September 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Deputy Music Director -Andrew Moore<\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.croydonmalevoicechoir.co.uk\/images\/Andrew-Moore.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Andrew, CMVC&#8217;s deputy music director since March 2024,\u00a0 is a conductor from Northern Ireland based in London. As a musical leader he is equally experienced both on the podium and in the classroom, likewise an accomplished pianist, singer, songwriter and composer. \u00a0Andrew has a unique and diverse musical skillset, at ease performing and writing in a variety of styles. Holding conducting positions at St Anselm\u2019s Church, Kennington and with All Sing Choir (Harrow Road), Andrew works with a variety of voices of all abilities. He has previously held appointments as the music coordinator in Westminster Academy, conductor of Jane Holloway Choir and project leader for Holloway Notes (a choir for adults with learning difficulties). He was a conducting scholar with Sing for\u00a0Pleasure (2022-23) and regularly\u00a0works as a freelance conductor. Additionally, Andrew enjoys a busy life working a singer-songwriter, teacher and music therapist.
